THE CHAPTERS
01MAY 22
NEW YORK
I moved to the States, studied at Seton Hill, and ended up on a trading floor. By 2022 the job ran on client socialising and I was in a cycle of late nights and heavy drinking.
02APR 23
LEAVING
I quit, and went travelling to find ways of rebuilding my health. No plan beyond getting well and working out what I actually wanted.
032023
THAILAND
Months at a monastery on one meal a day with nothing to do but sit still. It was the first time in years I had been quiet enough to think, and where I reconnected with Louie.
04AUG 23
THE AUDIENCE
Louie and I put the idea out publicly before we had a site, and started work on a first location. The first video went viral and people stayed.
05DEC 23
THE SEARCH
We looked all over the country for the right property and had an offer accepted in Essex.
06APR 24
THE SETBACK
The sale fell through and an investor pulled out. Back to the drawing board, with the concept still being developed in the background.
07NOV 24
DUNFORD HOUSE
Louie went to an event at Dunford House. It was not on the market. We negotiated a deal with the owner anyway, and the development began.
08APR 25
GROUNDBREAKING
Construction began on fifty five acres near Midhurst. Thirty rooms, co-founded with Louie Blake, opening 2027.
2026
NOW
Raising, building, filming, and running at the pace the trading floor taught me, applied to something that stays in one place.
